This notice ( v15 ) is on behalf of INTERMODAL CARGO SOLUTIONS ( ICS ).

We continue to thank all the Groupage Operators, Clearing Agents and Transporters who have made the switch to our Groupage Online Rapid Booking System (RBS) and helped maintain the required social distancing.

As the national lockdown moves to level 4 and business slowly begins returning to normal, ICS will continue to do our best to accommodate all Clearing Agents and Transporters and the collection of Groupage Cargo. However, we ask that you be mindful of the fact that our CFS's are at extreme capacity which affects the efficiency of pulling cargo. In light of this, preference will be given to;

  1. Essential cargo
  2. Groupage Cargo cleared in the past 24 hrs ( Cargo remaining in storage during the April lockdown )
  3. Long term storage cargo

We understand the urgency to collect cargo after weeks of lockdown and disruptions to supply chain movement, but it is not possible to release unreasonable volumes of cargo in only a few days. We reiterate that most of our administrative staff continue to work remotely from home and we are without a full complement of warehousing staff due to government and transport restrictions.

RBS enables all Clearing Agents and Transporters to prearrange collections days in advance and with sufficient daily time slots available, we reiterate that you can make one booking per vehicle and can assign multiple shipments / HBL's to that load or appointment. This is vital if we are to improve the turnaround times of vehicles and allow us to accommodate more bookings / appointments per day.

We ask in advance that transporters arrive on time for their collection appointments as late arrivals cause a backlog in dispatch and adversely affects other truckers.

We understand that change is necessary as we try overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and have adapted our business accordingly. Wr thank you for working with us during this extraordinary time.
