CHINESE NEW YEAR: 2020 IS THE YEAR OF THE RAT

Chinese New Year is a major holiday in China.  Chinese New Year 2020 falls on January 25th (Saturday), and the festival will last to February 8th, about 15 days in total.

As it is an official public holiday, Chinese people can get seven days' absence from work, from January 24th to 30th.

This means that all of China will be closed over this time period.

2020 according to the Chinese zodiac is the Year of the Rat.  In Chinese culture, rats are seen as a sign of wealth and surplus.
